New domain name - July 24, 2018
As you may have seen from the redirects, I’ve moved to a new domain name. The old one was based on a dumb inside joke from reading the bash man page way back in 1999, but now just seems weird. I’ve set up redirects for all the web stuff so it should keep working, and I’ve set up redirects so my old email address keeps working but uses the new domain by default. I’ll probably keep the old domain for years to come and let the forwards continue to do their work.
You may still see a reference on the site somewhere, so if you see something, say something. It will definitely still show up in email headers, but unless you’re the kind of person that gets delight from reading those, you shouldn’t see them.

Latest photos uploaded - August 8, 2016
I’ve finally got the new photo browser set up and all the photos put into it. I’ve also processed everything that was still on the camera or in a temporary directory from this year. One thing the new browser doesn’t have is an RSS feed (not that anyone was subscribed to the old one) so it can be hard to tell what’s new. I thought it would be worth a quick post to spotlight all the latest stuff.

Welcome to the new site! - June 18, 2015
Welcome to the new bangmoney.org! This new design is going to be my place to talk about my outdoor adventures, homebrewing, and amateur radio experiments. It scraps all the dynamic stuff that involved databases and comment systems that I never actually used in favor of simple, static, text with occassional pictures. My hope is that I will use it more frequently, too.

Back on the internet - December 7, 2006
A technician from Covad came today and hooked up he DSL connection at the new apartment. We had him hook it up in the closet since there was a block of phone equipment in there already. After working in there for a while, he informed us that we had networking cable running to all the jacks in the apartment. He called it cat5, which we soon discovered was wrong, but it was still exciting. This meant we could hook up the jacks in our bedrooms with ethernet and not have to run big long cables from the bedrooms back to the closet.

Changing things one more time. - September 6, 2006
It’s once again time to change the website. For a couple of years now, I’ve had the content scattered all around. There’s the articles on the main page, the journal on my own personal website (why have a personal site when the whole domain is mine?), the projects pages, some useless static information both on the main site and my personal one, and then a bunch of random pictures and things. I started the journal with the idea that I would post frequently and for a while I did. But I fell out of that habit and the website has been stagnating ever since. Of course, most people didn’t even know that there was a journal so to them it looked like it had always been stagnating.

That didn't work so well - January 9, 2006
Well, that sure was a failed experiment. However, it’s a new year so let’s try this again like that means something. The last several months have been pretty crazy at times but since I’m so far behind writing about them and most people already know about everything, I’m just going to ignore talking about it. Ask if you want to know.

Testing out this journal thing - June 23, 2005
I think I’m probaly the last person on Earth who doesn’t have some sort of web journal deal, so I’m going to try fixing that. In the past, all my efforts to maintain a dynamic website have failed because I get bored with it and just stop making updates. Hopefully this one will be different. My current plan is to keep my main web page as it is - a place for me to announce releases of my software and big giant events. This journal is going to be just for boring everyday things that for some reason, I think everyone should know about.

Website updates - August 24, 2004
By now, you’ve probably noticed the changes I have made to the front page here. The big goofy image is gone in favor of this more dynamic style. I did this for two reasons. First, the big goofy image was kind of stupid and didn’t really make sense to anyone but me. Second, having the more dynamic main page allows me to attract more attention to my projects or other things of interest.
