Out of action for several weeks

I haven’t posted anything in a while, and that’s because I haven’t been doing much worth writing about. The week after climbing the Eaglet I went and did a pretty big hike up Mt. Madison via the Madison Gulf Trail with Sharon. I suppose that was worth writing about, but it’s too late now. On that hike I got some pain in my right heel. It feels like tendonitis and hasn’t gone away so I’ve been resting it ever since then.

I’ve been staying out of the climbing gym, off the mountain bike, and away from any serious hikes. The mountain bike also needs repairs that I am very slowly working on, so that’s helped to keep me off. I’ve gone climbing once at Denrock but that is very easy top roping. I’ve also gone on a couple very easy hikes like to Guinea Pond in the Sandwich Wilderness. But again, it’s nothing really exciting worth talking about.

I’m hoping this clears up in another couple weeks and I can slowly start ramping my activity up again. I’ve dialed back the hiking goals for the year because I feel like they’re now not doable - in particular, I don’t think I am going to be able to do the backpacking required to finish the AT segments. Oh well, it’s better than making things much worse and missing ski season.

If it doesn’t clear up, maybe I’ll fill some space with gear reviews. I did just buy three new packs for Sarah and me.
