This week in Anaconda
In case you were wondering what happened to the other days of beers, the short story is that writing about beer gets really old really quickly. There’s only so many things you can say, so many adjectives you can use. I got tired of feeling compelled to find and drink a new beer every day. Basically, drinking beer became work. Now maybe if I were able to turn it into a book deal, it would be worth it.
Anyway, it’s time for something new on here. As some of you may know, I have worked at Red Hat since 2004, specifically working on the installer. Over time, I’ve worked my way up until I’m now the technical lead. That means I’m supposed to be coming up with crazy new ideas and helping to set the overall direction.
In all this time, I’ve never been particularly good at self-promotion or promoting anaconda in general. So starting this Friday, I’m going to work on a once-a-week wrap up of what we did, what interesting new ideas we have, and where we’re going. I’ll try to respond to any big mailing list threads. I’ll occasionally give my rationale for why things in anaconda are the way they are. And hopefully, this will be interesting to someone.
