I hadn’t really planned on doing North Uncanoonuc this year, but it was the Europe/US summit to summit day for SOTA so
I did the quick and easy hike and spent several hours on top making contacts.

This bushwhack wasn’t nearly as bad as I had thought it might be. Various forms of trails took us to within about a
mile. From there, the bushwhacking was generally not bad until about a third of a mile from the summit. That’s when
it got thick and annoying. The actual summit was a little difficult to find. This was also a first activation for
SOTA.

We tried to hike to Mount Success for a dual SOTA activation, but no one had been up this trail in a long
time and there was a lot of snow to break through. Some spots were knee deep, with occassional hip deep
